“Candy” came to our farm when she was a baby heifer. She was born on October 11, 2013. She currently stands about 52″ to her shoulders and weighs approximately 900 lbs. She always has access to certified organic pasture, hay, and clean water… never given grain, corn or soy. 100% GMO Free! She respects barbed wire and is trained on electric fencing on pasture: Poly/stainless single strand of hot wire on insulated posts. She is well-trained on halter, and extremely gentle.
Candy was confirmed A2/A2 through the UC Davis Genetics Laboratory. She ran with our A2/A2 bull, Austin, last summer. Candy delivered a healthy heifer calf on 6.13.17. There is a 100% chance that her calf is an A2/A2 as well. Dehorning of the new calf took place on 6.30.17. We plan to keep the calf, but would sell her at Candy’s side for $600.
This is her second time around for calving. She produced a healthy A2/A2 heifer calf on 2.15.16 that we named Valentine (who is still here on the farm).
WHOLE HERD TESTING DATES:
NEGATIVE ON ALL…
10.19.2016 Tuberculosis and Brucellosis
Candy was tested on 6.30.2017 for TB and Brucellosis. She is ready to travel out of state.
In the summer of 2014, our region was hit with a lot of bovine pink eye, which kept the vets quite busy with all the dairy farms around here. Candy did have a slight case as a young calf and was treated for it. She does currently have a little bit of clouding on her left eye, but the vet said her vision is not affected by it.
She can be delivered for free in our enclosed trailer, please visit our FAQ page for details on this.
